Two weekends ago I had the opportunity to drive up to Binghamton, New York for a Northeast Regional TPT meet up. After hosting two meet ups locally, I jumped at the chance to attend another.
Here you can see many of the day's wonderful organizers (Oops, I got Sherri with her head down). The event was held in the Binghamton Holiday Inn and from the time we walked in the door, we were showered with goodies. Everyone received a name tag with our store logo, a TPT bag with a TPT water bottle and notebooks, as well as a goodie bag filled with all sorts of gifts from other TPT and Etsy sellers. Throughout the day, raffle tickets were pulled and each TPTer went home with a prize from the giveaway table. I chose a framed jewelry board made by The Little Coral Box. I was also one of three lucky ladies to win a Hue Animation Studio, which includes a HUE HD camera, a flexible plug and play USB camera with built-in microphone, HUE Animation software, and the HUE Book of Animation for ideas.
After a TPT sponsored breakfast and a selfie bingo ice breaker, we started the morning with a presentation by Jennifer Jones (Hello Literacy) on Providing Top Notch Customer Care for Your Buyers. Then we began the first two of six rounds of collaboration topics.
Before lunch was the teacher tool exchange. I was lucky enough to receive Stefany Smith's personal wipe off boards. Students can use them like white boards. One edge is open so that you can also slide in handouts. You can read more about how to make them yourself here.
Next up on the agenda was our product review where, in small groups, we each shared a best seller and a product we wished would sell better. We came up with this list of qualities of good products. Then it was back to collaborating at four more stations.
The day was all about meeting new and old friends. Okay and maybe by old friends, I mean my friends previously just from the internets :)
Top left: Mary Beth (Brain Waves Instruction), Megan (Middle School Meg), and I. Us secondary ELA gals have to stick together.
Top Right: Jackie (The Template Teacher) and I. Jackie received my teacher tool in the exchange.
Bottom Left: Angela (Fun in 5th Grade) and I. We carpooled together up the turnpike to NY.
Bottom Right: Mary Beth and I again. She is such a sweetie and always emails me when she spots me in the TPT newsletter or blog.
At the end of the meet up, a few us of decided we hadn't had quite enough fun and decided to go out for some dinner together at Little Venice. Yum!
More on everything I learned coming soon (or maybe in another two weeks).
