Welcome and thank you for joining #tptSMsurge. The Surge begins today, Wednesday, July 22nd. If you have not done so already, download this TPT Social Media Planner & Weekly Checklist, which we will be using throughout the four weeks of this event. You can also fill out this Google form to help us tailor this event to best fit your needs. Invite your friends to join in the fun and get excited!!!
Each Wednesday, we will share what to do for the week as we focus on a specific social media platform. On Thursdays, we will discuss technology tips. On Fridays, we will highlight people to follow as "mentors" on each type of social media. We'll give you the weekends off and then on Mondays, we will talk about how to vary your postings and content. On Tuesdays, we will think back on our progress for the week. So what to do this week?
Step 1: Rate your Comfort/Confidence Levels
You can right click and save and/or print this image for your own use. If you would like to, you can share this image on Instagram or Twitter using #tptSMsurge or on our secret Pinterest Board. To share on our Pinterest you must request to join the board by filling out this Google Form. We know that many of you are conscious of not wanting to turn off buyers, so the secret Pinterest board allows only other participants in this event to see your posting.
Step 2: Focus on Facebook
If you are like me, you likely struggle with staying on top of social media: what to post, when, how often, and how to reach your intended audience. As to not get overwhelmed, this week will be all about Facebook. If you have a personal Facebook account, but not a Facebook page for your blog or TPT business, you will want to create one.
In the top right corner of your Facebook, click on the drop down arrow and click on "create page." Once you have created a page, you can switch between your personal and TPT/blog page in the same place. You can see my page, The Literary Maven, is there.
Whether you are new and clueless or feeling like an expert on Facebook, you will just be focusing on the checklist for Facebook on the TPT Social Media Planner & Weekly Checklist. The checklist is broken down into what you "must," "should," and "could" do each week. Start from the top, work your way down, and don't feel defeated if you don't get to everything. Remember those are just things you could do.
Step 3: Check Back in the Facebook Group
Look for these postings throughout the week in the TPT Social Media Surge Facebook group for more information about how to best utilize Facebook. Please note that only admins will be able to post in this Facebook group as not to clutter the feed (though anyone can comment or like). If you have questions about Social Media please fill out the Google form or post them in the TPT Social Media Tribe Facebook group.
